Attending a concert by the Orquestra Sinf\u00f4nica Juvenil Chiquinha Gonzaga is a unique experience, which brings together respect for diversity, great talents and lots of fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the important mission of collaborating with gender equity actions, the group is a broad educational and artistic initiative for public school students \u2013 all female \u2013, offering complete training for participants, from musical instrument workshops to large concerts in Brazil and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed by 50 students, between 13 and 19 years old, the Orchestra is conducted by the award-winning Priscila Bomfim, the first woman and musical director to conduct operas in the official season at Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Professional Training and Productive Inclusion Center is also part of the initiative, offering supervised internships for high school students, which includes preparation for higher education courses and professional orchestras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the Orquestra Sinf\u00f4nica Juvenil Chiquinha Gonzaga encourages the protagonism of girls, young people and women in the most varied activities in the music production chain, generating concrete impacts for students, families, communities and society itself.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gender inequality, especially among the most vulnerable segments of the population, affects the entire social structure. The Orquestra Sinf\u00f4nica Juvenil Chiquinha Gonzaga works to interrupt the cycle of gender inequality in orchestral music, valuing female instrumentalists, by encouraging them to perform in the most diverse sections and in leadership roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In dialogue with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (\u201cGender Equality\u201d), the idea is that girls, young people and women increasingly play a leading role, being great examples for this and future generations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
